Please read it in detail, as no Onyxia raid group has gotten her below 80% health. Everyone needs to be educated in this strategy in order for it to be effective.

The most crucial portion is comprised of 12 healers: 6 priests and 6 paladins. This is a healing rotation. The healing rotation works this way: each healer in the rotation is assigned a number, number 1 through number 12. The healing rotation players will be in their own channel. Number 1 starts off the rotation by saying in channel, "1", then immediately casts a big heal on the main tank. Number 2 waits 2-2.5 seconds, says "2" in channel, then immediately casts a big heal on the main tank. Number 3 waits 2-2.5 seconds, says "3" in channel, casts big heal. And so on. Healing rotation members are to do NO healing except this to maximize their maga regeneration. Calculations have it that, in a 12 person healing rotation, you will be losing very little mana this way over a long period of time.

Furthermore, there is to be one priest assigned to only casting holy word: shield on the main tank and renew. There is also to be one paladin assigned as a loose healer to the main tank in case Onyxia gets a lucky crit or hit.

There will be one druid assigned to keeping druid renew on the main tank, as well as casting any extra healing on the main tank that is needed.

Next, there is to be 1 paladin and 1 priest, as well as the other druids, providing miscellaneous healing as needed, to either melee or others.

There will be one paladin assigned to being a backup tank. He will position himself underneath the belly of Onyxia and gain hate that way so as to avoid most damage. He will engage Onyxia 15-20 seconds after the main tank does, significantly *before* other tanks/melee damage dealers go in.

There will be a final paladin assigned to remaining out of battle completely and ressing anyone that falls (note: this paladin will be recording the battle with FRAPS. This has a dual purpose: it allows us to find faults in current strategy, and it also allows us to find out who is a screwup and remove them from the team).

The remainder is comprised of damage dealers and secondary tanks. These include: mages, hunters, warriors, warlocks, rogues. These players stay out of combat until the main tank calls them in (he will say, "casters attack", then later, "melee attack"). Note the following, and this is crucial: you are to spread your damage out over a long period of time. ___Doing too much burst damage will end up wiping the entire raid.___ While this applies to all damage dealers/tanks, it applies ESPECIALLY to hunters and rogues, who seem to do a bit more damage than mages, warlocks and warriors versus Onyxia.

So, to reiterate:

MAIN TANK HEALING
6 Paladins = Heal Rotation
6 Priests = Heal Rotation
1 Paladin = Loose Main Tank Healer
1 Priest = HWS/Renew Healer
1 Druid = Renew/Loose Main Tank Healer
------------
15 People

TANKS
1 Paladin = Main Tank
1 Paladin = Backup Tank Under Onyxia's belly
------------
2 People

MISCELLANEOUS HEALING (group)
1 Priest
1 Paladin
2+ Druids
---------------
4 People

Rest:

6+ mages (at least)
3+ warlocks (at least)
3+ hunters (at least)
3 warriors (at most)
3 rogues (depending on quality available online)
------------
18 people

MISC
1 Paladin = Out of Battle Resser
------------
1 person

------------------------------
TOTAL: 40 people

The above is a rough guideline and the numbers are subject to change based on availability of players online.

We will instruct you on small parts of additional strategy, such as optimal placement of players, in game, but this is the core strategy.

Connacht
